Laws and regulation
In Sudan, gambling (including lotteries, casinos, sports betting and online money games) is banned as contrary to Sharia law and public order.
Prohibition covers organization, mediation, and participation; sanctions are provided up to fines, confiscation of equipment and criminal liability.
Advertising and promotion of gambling services is also prohibited.
The practice of blocking sites and applications operates online, and payment providers and banks restrict transactions related to gambling activities.
Any "gray" schemes carry a high legal risk for operators and players; there are no permitted exceptions for commercial gambling.
