Laws and regulation
Bangladesh has a prohibitive model, inherited from colonial legislation and supported by modern acts on maintaining public order and combating money laundering.
There are no licenses for casinos, bookmakers and gambling halls; state lotteries are closed and no commercial draws are allowed.
Online casinos and betting are also illegal: communication providers block access to known sites, and banks and payment operators restrict transactions related to gambling.
Police raids are periodically carried out against underground "clubs" and sweepstakes, with confiscation of equipment and fines/criminal liability of the organizers.
Regulatory focus - prevention of addiction, protection of minors, KYC/AML control and information campaigns; there are no exceptions for tourist zones and "casinos for foreigners."
