Land-based casinos
Brunei has a strict zero tolerance gambling policy, so there are no legal land-based casinos.
Any clandestine formats (playrooms, private clubs) are suppressed by joint raids, equipment and cash are confiscated, violators receive fines and prison terms, and Sharia rules also apply to Muslims.
Hotel and tourism projects do not include casinos; part of the potential demand leaves for neighboring jurisdictions of Southeast Asia, but the participation of residents remains risky from the point of view of Brunei law.
