Sports and betting

In Indonesia, sports betting is completely banned - both offline and online.

The authorities block sites and applications, suppress payments, conduct interdepartmental raids and prosecute operators, agents, advertisers (including influencers) and players.

VPN use does not legalize participation.

Only non-standard sports formats are allowed (viewing, amateur leagues, e-sports without bets); fantasy sports and sweepstakes are banned if there is a cash win.

Demand is partly flowing to offshore and neighboring jurisdictions, but public policy is "zero tolerance" for any sports betting.
