Land-based casinos
Macau's terrestrial scene is integrated resorts on the peninsula and especially on the Cotai Strip (between Taipa and Kotai): large complexes with casino halls, hotels, arenas, shopping galleries and gastronomy.
The game profile is headed by a baccarat (VIP and mass), followed by roulette, blackjack, sik-bo and slots.
After tightening the rules on junkets, the market shifted towards the premium mass-market: more halls for mid-stakes, high-limit zones under the control of operators, an emphasis on Responsible Gaming and comfort 21 +.
Guests are mainly tourists from mainland China and the Greater Bay Area; streams support ferries, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the airport.
Competition between resorts is built on shows, MICE venues, family attractions and shopping infrastructure, increasing "on-site time" and diversifying revenue beyond GGR.
