Sports and betting

In the DPRK, sports perform an ideological and health-improving function: football, gymnastics, martial arts, board games and mass holidays are popular.

However, any sports betting is prohibited for both citizens and local organizations: there are no legal bookmakers, sweepstakes and lotteries, there is also no online betting.

Separate tourist sites for foreigners do not offer open rates; control over money games is as tight as possible.

As a result, the sports ecosystem is built around competitions without monetization through excitement, and any form of betting is treated as an offense.
