Sports and betting

In Tajikistan, football (national championship and national team), traditional wrestling gushtingiri, boxing, judo, taekwondo and athletics are massively popular; mountain activities are also developing.

At the same time, sports betting is not legalized: offline bookmakers and online betting are prohibited, betting advertising is not allowed, and attempts to organize or participate in betting are suppressed.

State policy concentrates on the development of mass and youth sports, national disciplines and international image without involving the gambling segment.
