Land-based casinos
In Thailand, land-based casinos are not licensed, so there are no full-fledged gambling complexes within the country.
Part of the demand is redistributed to state lotteries and legal sports formats (as an exception), as well as to private entertainment clubs without gambling.
Table and slot-oriented players often choose border destinations - primarily Cambodia (Poipet, Bavet), Laos and Myanmar, where casino resorts and day tours from border cities operate.
For hotels and shopping and entertainment centers within the country, this means a focus on "family-tourist" entertainment: electronic arcades, bowling, karaoke, food halls, SPA, shopping and show programs instead of casinos.
The prospects for the emergence of legal IR complexes are discussed in waves, but in practice the status quo remains, so operators are guided by partnerships with the tourist business and responsible communication without a direct gambling agenda.
