Games and slots
Since 1 January 2019, Albania has closed slot salons and banned online casinos; in 2024, the parliament partially returned to regulation, allowing only online sports betting on a limited number of licenses (up to 10).
Slots, online roulette, poker and live games remain prohibited.
The Lotaria Kombötare national lottery and quiz/bingo are legally available; land-based casinos are allowed only as an exception in 5-star hotels or tourist areas, which sharply limits access to tables and offline slots.
The regulator strengthens site blocking and payment control against illegal online slots and casinos, but demand partially goes to the offshore segment.
Until the new amendments appear, a full-fledged market for online games/slots in the country is not provided.
