The future of the industry

In the medium term (2025-2030), Albania's regulatory strategy remains "narrow": the market will develop around online rates - with competitive distribution of up to 10 long-term licenses, enhanced KYC/AML and advertising restrictions.

The main goals are the legalization of demand, blocking illegal immigrants and targeted contributions of operators to a special fund (sports, culture, innovation).

Online casinos, poker, slots are not included in the list of permitted online products, and signs of an imminent revision of the course are still limited.

Growth is expected to come from "whitewashing" and the integration of payments through licensed financial institutions, as well as the subsequent refinement of by-laws and licensee selection procedures.
