Before the "tough" ban of 2019, 4,300-4,700 rate points were in effect in the country, which reflected the high saturation of the offline segment. In 2018, the official turnover of the industry was estimated at about €130 million, while the authorities themselves allowed a significant underestimation of the "shadow" turnover and about €40 million in tax revenues.

Since March 27, 2024, the online market has been restarted only for sports betting: up to 10 long-term licenses (10 years) issued by a competitive supervisory authority are provided. To contain the illegal segment, domain and payment locks remain (including hundreds of sites after 2019).

According to industry analysts, the total turnover of legal iGaming/gambling in 2025 could be $132-278 million with moderate growth until 2030, while the contribution of online betting will be a key driver.
