Online casino
From January 1, 2019
Albania has shut down almost all forms of gambling, including online gaming.
In February-April 2024, the parliament adopted amendments: the country allowed only online sports bets under the license of the National Regulator (a division of the Ministry of Finance) with a limit of up to 10 licenses issued under the competitive procedure.
Online casinos (slot machines, Live games, poker rooms) are not included in the list of permitted online products.
In practice, the authorities are strengthening site blocking and payment control against illegal casinos, but some players continue to go to offshore services/VPN.
It is expected that the supervision of the turnover and reporting of licensees is focused on reducing the "gray" market, while legal online casinos as of 2025 are not provided.
