Since 2019, all ground betting points have been closed, and in 2024 the parliament legalized exclusively online sports betting.

The law provides for up to 10 licenses (competitive procedure, up to 10 years), hard KYC and acceptance of payments only through financial agents (banks, licensed financial organizations).

Illegal sites are still blocked.

The main sport is football: the team went to the YeVRO-2024 and regularly plays at the crowded Air Albania Stadium, which fuels interest in betting; other disciplines are significantly inferior in volume.
