The future of the industry

The Croatian market is entering a phase of "smart" consolidation: operators are increasing the online channel, and terrestrial casinos are rethinking the format for the Adriatic tourist clusters (Split, Dubrovnik, Istria).

Switching to the euro and being in the Schengen area simplifies cashless models (cards, open banking, instant transfers), reducing costs and increasing transaction control.

The regulation is expected to gradually tighten requirements for KYC/AML, limits and player tracking, plus more targeted advertising and mandatory RG tools (self-exclusion, behavioral risk analytics).

This will push the market towards data-driven compliance and partnerships with monitoring providers.

The gaming offering shifts to live casinos, crash games, and localized slots with a nautical and historical aesthetic; interest in betting on football/basketball and e-sports is growing.

Tourism stimulates the casino-resort/entertainment format: bundled products (hotel + game + events), seasonal tournament series and VIP segment.

Technologically, the focus is mobile UX, personalization, anti-fraud rates, responsible segmentation, as well as integration with fintech providers.

By 2030, the market is likely to be more transparent, digital and sustainability oriented (ESG), where the growth of online GGR offsets the "plateau" of the terrestrial segment, and the influx of tourists determines premium demand.
