Land-based casinos
Land-based casinos are completely banned in Iceland.
The law does not allow commercial gambling houses, slot machine halls or private gambling clubs.
The only exceptions concern bingo and charity raffles held under the control of the authorities and with a transparent distribution of profits for social needs.
Travel or private initiatives with a casino format have no legal basis.
The country deliberately avoids the development of gambling tourism, preserving the image of a "clean" and socially responsible jurisdiction.
