Culture and history
Gaming practices in Kosovo were formed at the junction of Ottoman and Yugoslav traditions: card games and lotto in a family and friendly circle, and later - slot halls and points for receiving bets on football.
Cafes and small clubs were an important part of city life, and the diaspora maintained an interest in European lotteries and sports betting.
At the turn of the 2010s, moral and social disputes intensified - security, criminal risks, youth protection - which ultimately led to a moratorium and a transition to a prohibitive model.
Today, the cultural memory of "small games" is preserved, but public discourse is shifted towards social responsibility and the prevention of addiction.
