Since 2019, Kosovo has a nationwide ban on land casinos and betting points for a period of 10 years.

An exception is provided for the state lottery, while private operators are not allowed.

Supervision and suppression of violations are carried out by financial and police authorities; fines, confiscations and criminal liability for organizing illegal games are provided.

Online gambling is formally prohibited, but some of the traffic goes to offshore sites; authorities apply blocking and payment restrictions.

Until 2029, the basic regime is prohibitive, with a focus on control, responsible play and anti-money laundering.
