Laws and regulation
Latvia regulates gambling according to a single national regime: operators (casinos, slot halls, online platforms, bookmakers) work only under a state license and under the supervision of a specialized inspection.
Municipalities can tighten the placement of halls, and the online market is protected through the registry of blocked domains and payment restrictions for unlicensed sites.
There are KYC/AML requirements for EU standards, mandatory responsible play tools and a state register of self-exclusion.
Advertising and promotions are limited, fines and license revocation are provided for violations.
