National Lottery: TIPOS

💡 Important: Slovakia has no participation in the EuroMillions lottery. State-owned TIPOS offers its own LOTO games, Euromilióny (a national lottery with a similar name but different rules) and pan-European Eurojackpot.

1) TIPOS - state operator

Status and mission. TIPOS is the national lottery company of Slovakia: organizes numerical draws, instant lotteries, online sales, ensures the distribution of the prize pool and compliance with KYC/AML and Responsible Gaming. In the official TIPOS showcase, you will see key products: LOTO, LOTO 5 z 35, Euromilióny, KENO 10, Eurojackpot, as well as additional games like JOKER.

Online channel. Through eTIPOS, ticket purchases, results verification and online circulation participation are available. The current Eurojackpot and Euromilióny jackpots are regularly announced on the homepage.

2) LOTO: Slovak Number Lottery Classic

Format. Basic "classic" TIPOS lotto game with regular runs; part of the income goes to the prize fund, part - to social programs.

Circulations and additional options. Circulations take place twice a week; an optional JOKER game tied to a bet in LOTO/LOTO 5 z 35 is often available.

Why popular. Understandable rules, affordable rates, the usual "family" mechanics of participation and television/online support for results.

3) Euromilióny: TIPOS national lottery (not EuroMillions)

What is that. Euromilióny is a Slovak TIPOS numerical lottery with its own fall mechanics and prize table. This is not EuroMillions, but an internal product with a similar name. Euromilióny results and circulation history are published in open sources and on aggregators.

Game logic. The draw is based on the choice of the main combination and additional numbers; jackpot probability and prize structure are different from EuroMillions. (Euromilióny references and odds are widely published by third-party trackers.)

Practice notes to the player. Keep an eye on the draw calendar and the accumulating jackpot; use the eTIPOS online cabinet to check tickets and auto-score winnings.

4) Eurojackpot: pan-European lottery available in Slovakia

Status. Unlike EuroMillions, Eurojackpot is the same transnational lottery in which Slovakia participates through TIPOS. The current jackpot and news about Slovak players winning are regularly visible on eTIPOS.

Mechanics. Draw with a matrix of five main and two additional "Euro-numbers"; odds and jackpot size are officially published on Eurojackpot portals.

Winning precedents. In 2020, Slovakia recorded the first Eurojackpot jackpot (more than €58 million).

5) Why "EuroMillions" has nothing to do with it

Geography of EuroMillions. The game is held in nine countries (France, Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg). Slovakia is not on the list, so TIPOS does not sell EuroMillions and does not pay prizes on it.

Frequent confusion. The name Euromilióny sounds similar to EuroMillions, but these are different products: the first is the TIPOS national lottery, the second is the "club of nine" without Slovakia. Confirmation - TIPOS product pages and official EuroMillions list.

6) KYC/AML и Responsible Gaming

Age and identity verification. For online participation, KYC procedures (ID, address) are required to exclude access for minors.

Responsible play. Deposit limits, time reminders, easy timeouts and self-exclusion are the standard for eTIPOS and licensed partners. (These requirements follow the general regulation of gambling in the country.)

7) Practical advice to the player

1. Check the name of the lottery. In Slovakia, play Euromilióny and Eurojackpot; EuroMillions is not for sale.

2. Use eTIPOS. Online ticket purchase, results, auto-accrual of prizes and limit control.

3. See the calendar. LOTO - twice a week; Euromilióny/Eurojackpot - according to the schedule announced by TIPOS.

The Slovak national lottery is TIPOS with three "whales": LOTO, Euromilióny (domestic game) and Eurojackpot (pan-European). If you meet "Euromillions" in the context of Slovakia, this is a mistake: the country does not participate in it. Understand the names, use eTIPOS for convenience and always keep reasonable limits.
