Laws and regulation
In the Sultanate of Oman, gambling in all forms is prohibited by religious and criminal law.
There is no licensing for casinos, bookmakers, poker, sweepstakes or online casinos; access to gaming sites and applications is blocked by providers.
For organization, participation, advertising and mediation, fines and possible criminal liability are provided, and banks and fintech services apply KYC/AML procedures that suppress "game" transactions.
Only entertainment activities are allowed without paid entry and an element of randomness (skill games, educational quizzes).
The recommendation for business and media is a complete rejection of the gambling component and a preliminary legal audit of any promotional mechanics with prizes.
