Land-based casinos

In Qatar, land-based casinos are prohibited by Sharia and criminal law.

The state does not issue licenses, does not allow gambling halls, poker rooms and VIP clubs; attempts by the organization fall under harassment, and advertising and mediation are unacceptable.

The hotel and resort sector, entertainment centers and sports facilities (the legacy of major tournaments) operate without a gambling component.

For business and developers, a safe strategy is "entertainment-only" projects: gastronomy, events, wellness and sports without any bets or draws with an element of chance.
