Antigua's gaming culture has developed around tourism and cruises: the key King's Casino stands at the pier at Heritage Quay, where liner passengers go, which set the "port" leisure format for city guests. In parallel, the country became a pioneer of iGaming: already in 1994 it began to license interactive casinos and bookmaking, and in the 2000s it became famous for the WTO case DS285 against the United States on cross-border online services - this consolidated its image of an early exporter of e-gaming. The cultural rhythm is set by the Carnival of Antigua (late July - early August), celebrating the abolition of slavery and uniting parades, juice and calypso; against its background, gambling grounds are perceived as part of a wide entertainment industry for tourists.
