Poker tournaments in the Bahamas (PCA/PokerStars Caribbean Adventure)
Briefly
PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is the most famous poker series in the Bahamas. She started in 2004 (the first stop took place on a cruise ship), then throughout 2005-2019 she settled in Atlantis Paradise Island. In 2019, PokerStars announced the closure of the series, but in 2023 PCA returned to a new location - at the Baha Mar resort (Nassau), paired with the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC).
History and sites
2004: PCA debut on the Royal Caribbean liner.

Return in 2023: PokerStars announces PCA Relance and co-hosting with PSPC at Baha Mar (Nassau). Festival dates 2023: January 22 - February 3.

The rules separately note: those who are late for issuing a ticket without an application for registration are deprived of a refund - the funds go to the prize pool.
Stats and Legendary Champions (Selective)
The series gave the world bright winners and high-rollers: from Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (ME 2008 - $2,000,000) to record "super-rollers" 2011-2019, and in the "post-quarantine" era - the return of titles on Baha Mar. A selection of statistics and historical tables - in the materials of PokerStars and PokerNews.
Status 2024-2025
After the "comeback" of 2023, PCA did not formally appear in the schedules of 2024-2025 (PokerStars Live publishes lists of current series, and PCA is not there), that is, the regular annual cycle has not yet been restored. Follow PokerStars Live announcements - spot special events are possible.
Why PCA is important to the Bahamas
1. Destination image. The series has been forming a "January" news feed for decades, bringing thousands of players and media to the islands.
2. Resort infrastructure. Both Atlantis and Baha Mar are integrated resorts capable of hosting multi-day festivals, high rollers and television shoots.
3. Economic effect. High ADR, hotel loading, F&B and event agenda - classic poker + tourism synergy.
Practical advice for players and fans
Follow the schedules on PokerStars Live and in the PokerNews/PokerStars Blog media - this is where the date and satellite announcements first appear.
Book ahead for hotels on Paradise Island (Atlantis) or Cable Beach (Baha Mar) - January/February are traditionally peak months.
Combine a trip: beaches, water parks and resort restaurants × poker events; plan the budget for buy-ins and tax reporting of your jurisdiction.
Check visa/border rules and conditions for prize payments (KYC on site, bank transfers, etc.).
PCA is the calling card of poker in the Bahamas, from the Atlantis era to a high-profile comeback in 2023 at Baha Mar with PSPC records and Dattani/Haxton/Greenwood wins. As of October 11, 2025, the series is not fixed as annual, but its heritage and potential remain a powerful driver for tourism and the country's live scene. Follow the news - it is the Bahamas that remain the "natural" platform for future high-profile poker festivals.
