Gambling regulation in Jamaica is carried out by the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission (BGLC), which licenses and controls sports/horse racing betting, lotteries, gambling halls and betting shops, sets technical standards and advertising rules.
The casino mode is highlighted separately: according to the Casino Gaming Act, licenses are tied to integrated resort projects with large investments, requirements for number of rooms, infrastructure and social obligations.
KYC, AML/CFT measures, reporting, transaction monitoring and responsible play procedures (18 +, limits, self-exclusion) are mandatory for all operators.
The online component is allowed mainly as an extension of licensed products (betting/lotteries), subject to the requirements for hosting, data protection and RNG audits.
Unlicensed activity is suppressed by fines and revocation of permits, and the regulator strengthens supervision and compliance, supporting market transparency and consumer protection.
