Economics and statistics
Tuvalu is an ultra-small and import-dependent economy on atolls, with high logistics costs and a limited private sector.
The currency is the Australian dollar (AUD).
Budget revenues are formed from licenses for fishing in the exclusive economic zone, revenues from the domain zone. tv, income of the Tuvalu Trust Fund, as well as grants and programs of partners; significant remittances from seafarers and the diaspora.
Tourism is small, with the private sector represented by small businesses and services.
The main vulnerabilities are climate risks and fuel/food price shocks; priorities - basic infrastructure, communication, adaptation and diversification of income.
There is no gambling sector: there are no land-based casinos and local online licensing, the contribution of gambling to GDP and the budget is zero/negligible.
